What I’ve Been Up to This Week…
Ah, Friday. FRIDAY! There—that had a little more excitement to it. ;) Not only is it the oh-so-fabulous Friday (my favorite day of the week), but it’s the Friday of a long, holiday weekend! Though I have no particular super special plans, I plan on spending time with my family and my pups. I am in desperate need to organize my bedroom and “puppy-proof” it better since Ms. Evelyn is very curious and acts in the typical nature of a puppy (“No!!! Don’t chew my nude heels!!!”). I also am planning on some shopping…whoooooo!
Here’s the week in review:
- Lots of working: the week went by pretty slowly at first, but gained speed towards the end.
- Shin Splint: Since I joined the Y[MCA], I have been loving every minute of belonging to a gym again. I hadn’t belonged to one since college—I would either use my parents’ elliptical machine/weights, or go walking outdoors. Now, it’s super nice to belong to an air-conditioned gym with plenty of fun classes! You know what class I’m REALLY into?! BELLY DANCING!!!! oH. mY. God. It’s amazing! I’ve always loved dancing and now, it’s not only a workout, but it’s super fun! Ok, so let me get on to the shin splint. Since I love exercising so much (and attending Belly Dancing class 3-4 times a week), I must have injured myself. Medical websites say that often times when a person increases their duration or intensity of his/her workout, it can result in a shin splint. Ugh. It’s been bad, but the worst part is not getting to work up a sweat and work off any stress. I’m huge into my fitness, and I admit, for the past year and a half or more I’ve abandoned it some (especially due to my health problems). But, I’m a work-out buff at heart and I’ll get back to my old self. Wednesday I went to the gym and did a very light workout of walking the track and switching to the treadmill….I was going oh…..so……s.l.o.w.
- Evelyn! Walter! Puppies! They’re so cute and awesome. Evelyn is really learning how to walk on the leash well, and she is good (most of the time) about coming when I call her name. She went to the vet almost 2 weeks ago and checked out healthy! Walter is doing well and enjoying his time with his best new weenie buddy! Gosh, I love my little “canine children,” as I now refer to them. It came about when I was out somewhere and someone asked me if I had children. I wanted to laugh out loud, but instead quelled it, and said, “no,” very simply. To ward off any awkwardness I said, “But I have canine children! Does that count?”
- Writing! I had decided that my first article for Fashion Wrap Up’s monthly magazine would be the one that I submitted to get the position. I wanted to add pictures to jazz it up. Well, lots of people are familiar with Polyvore, I’m sure, and I’ve used it. However, I should NOT have used it when I was in a tight deadline and new to using the FWU (Fashion Wrap Up) web designer interface. Believe me, I know my web design and coding, but I wasn’t used to using this website since, duh, I’m new! Anyhoo, after hours of making my Polyvore outfit collages for my article, I was finished. I’ll let you all know when the July issue is out! It should be out on July 5th, but I’ll remind y’all. ;)

Smile Friday::”Yay 4th of July Weekend!!!” Edition
Well, that oughta do it for now, but have a fabulous 4th of July weekend everyone!!!
