Praying

I’m praying tonight for those who were afflicted by the terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon today. I am saddened that so much violence exists in our world today and it is something that I find constantly crosses my mind.

Over the past several years, I have gained a considerable interest in understanding terrorism. I read many books, consult websites, and watch documentaries on terrorist acts and I struggle to understand it. I believe that my interest in terrorism stems some from my having studied Psychology in college. I am usually analyzing and trying to understand the human condition - what people are thinking, why, why they do what they do, and how. It’s fascinating.

*Note*: I know this may seem obvious, but I want to be absolutely clear - I am not interested in participating in terrorist activities nor have I ever participated in any such thing. I am not interested in hurting people. What I am saying is that I have studied terrorism and its effects because I feel it is an important issue for humanity.

Nevertheless, it’s not a “happy” subject, but one to be understood. And always, I pray for those who are directly (and indirectly) affected by these events.
